Google Productivity tools for Journalists..

 



Yesterday, I had the privilege of taking part in a specialized workshop organized for selected journalists in Sri Lanka, and it turned out to be one of the most insightful learning experiences of recent times.

The session, titled “Google Productivity Tools for Journalists”, was designed exclusively for media professionals — offering not just theoretical knowledge, but also hands-on practices and real-world applications.

✨ What made this workshop stand out was how it connected traditional journalism with modern digital tools. From exploring innovative ways to use Google’s productivity suite to diving into Gemini AI for research and content creation, the program truly opened doors to smarter, faster, and more collaborative ways of working.

Key learnings for me included:

💡 For me, this was not just a training session — it was a reminder that technology, when used mindfully, can empower journalists to be more accurate, efficient, and impactful in storytelling.
