Sky Tamil Media Launches "Idhayam" Social Service Initiative with Visit to Eastern cancer care hospice

In celebration of its fifth anniversary, Sky Tamil Media Network has launched a new community service initiative named "Idhayam", aimed at supporting vulnerable communities through various outreach programs.

Under the guidance of J.M. Basith, Director of Sky Tamil Media Network, and leadership of journalist M. Fahath Junaid, the head of the "Idhayam" social service project, a dedicated Sky Tamil community service team visited the Eastern cancer care hospice in Eravur on Saturday (19th). During the visit, the team interacted with patients undergoing treatment, discussed their conditions, and extended their support by distributing lunch meals and essential care packages.

This noble initiative was made possible through the generous contribution of the Hashim Umar Foundation, led by well-known philanthropist and social activist Pulavar Hashim Umar. During the last Ramadan, the foundation selected Sky Tamil Media as one of the recipients of their financial aid program for Muslim journalist associations. The donated funds were utilized to provide nutritious meals and essential supplies to the patients at the cancer centre.

Staff at the Eastern cancer care hospice also briefed the visiting team about the facility's operations, patient care procedures, and medical insights related to cancer development and treatment.

The launch of this project saw enthusiastic participation from several Sky Tamil members and the "Idhayam" social service team, including: Jafeer M. Mahroof, M.H. Asri, M.J. Jawshan Ahmad, M.Nasirn Banu, A.H.M. Harees, M. Faris Amanullah, S. Fathima Azka, M.H.M. Sifkan, M.U.M. Waseem, M.A.A.F. Shimra, and M.M.F. Banasil Shifna. With strong support from the Sky Tamil family, the "Idhayam" initiative is set to continue its impactful journey of serving those in need.
